Integrated Curriculum

Integrated learning (or a “thematic approach”) brings together knowledge, skills, and values from different subject areas around a shared theme or big idea.

Instead of learning subjects in isolated blocks, students might explore a real-world question like “How can we protect our local environment?” through a blend of:

  • Science & Social Sciences (Researching ecosystems and human impact)

  • English (Reading articles and writing reports)

  • Technology & The Arts (Designing solutions, creating visuals, or presenting ideas)

This interconnected style of learning makes learning meaningful, memorable, and fun.

Note on Core Skills: Integration goes hand-in-hand with explicit, structured teaching. Teachers continue to run Literacy and Mathematics lessons daily to guarantee students master essential foundational skills.
