E-learning at Otonga

At Otonga we believe in the benefits of a blended learning environment where digital tools stand alongside pen and paper in our learning journeys. We provide digital tools for all classrooms in our school - each class has at least 4 desktop computers and 4 ipads. By 2020 we are expecting that students from Year 3-6 will bring their own chromebook. Otonga School will manage these under the chrome licence purchased by the school.

Our year 3-6 children all have GAFE (google) accounts so they can collaborate together online and have personal learning journies. Our digital philosophy is that creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills are enhanced through opportunities in e-learning.

What happens if/when my child leaves Otonga?

Your child's Google account stays with the school and is deactivated. The child's Google drive can be downloaded to a home computer to be kept if desired.  You should receive  instructions on how to download from Google Drive, from the classroom teacher on leaving the school. A copy is also below.
