Include drama, music and the visual arts.

They are traditionally seen as being a key area for developing and exploring avenues of creativity.

At Otonga we aim to utilize specialist strengths and knowledge of staff to give our children strong foundational skills in each area, while still capturing the fun that these areas offer.

We hire specialist music teachers for singing, orchestra, marimba and gifted musical extension.

We provide modules of learning in drama, and every two years try to give every child the opportunity to perform in public through school productions, shows and displays.

Each year we take part in kapa haka performances.

Music and dance are also a fun part of the fitness programme through Jump Jam. These dances are always the most popular at our team discos.
